Tulane University Compliance & Ethics Week, November 2-6, 2026

Tulane University celebrates Compliance and Ethics Week to raise awareness of its Compliance & Ethics Program, recognize the efforts of Compliance Partners, and reinforce its mission and core values.  Compliance & Ethics Week has been designated by the Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics (SCCE) and is observed by many institutions of higher education.

To promote a culture of ethical and lawful conduct at Tulane, the Compliance & Ethics Work Group collaborates with the Office of Enterprise Risk Services, Internal Audit, the Office of the General Counsel, and its various Compliance Partners to plan informational and educational sessions for faculty, staff, and students.

Guardrails and Good Judgement: AI, Compliance and Ethics at Tulane

Can I trust what these tools do with my data? What rules apply? Who decides how AI is used here, and where do I go if something doesn't feel right?

In this 60-minute panel, now in its fourth year at Compliance & Ethics Week, leaders from across Tulane will describe how the university is approaching AI responsibly. Panelists represent administration, academics and research, information security, and the health sciences. They will discuss:

  • The TulaneAI platform and how it keeps university data within a protected environment

  • Emerging governance across Tulane's administrative and academic divisions, including proposed ethical standards grounded in a human-in-the-loop philosophy

  • The regulatory landscape, and what it means for faculty, staff, and clinicians

  • AI in health care and research, and the opportunities it offers

  • Speaking up. Concerns about AI belong in the same channels as any other compliance concern, including Tulane's anonymous hotline.

Panelists:
Mike Griffith (moderator), Executive Director, Strategic Digital Innovation, Director, Innovative Learning Center | Information Technology
